I stayed at the Adelphi Hotel after seeing lots of reviews with high ratings. It’s true that this hotel is in a really great location but, besides this, I didn’t find much to recommend it. My room had been sprayed with a synthetic fragrance and I couldn’t air it out as it had windows that you can’t open. The rug in the room looked grubby, like they vacuumed it but never steam cleaned or shampoo cleaned it. The lighting was terrible. On a positive note our room was a great size, with plenty of storage. The beds were also very comfortable. Good quality bedding and pillows. Good blackout blinds. However, the Adelphi really needs a complete makeover. Although I appreciate the design elements within the space. The interior is feeling very tired. In addition to this our room internet was very poor and the main heater did not heat our room properly. Thankfully we were given a separate electrical heater. Very centrally located.
Nice place to stay, convenient location, clean rooms, great service
Great location, thats where it ends. Hotel under renovation, no room service, no bar, and no ice for in room drinks, and no solutions in place when you ring room service, very poor contingency planning. Rooms grubby, lighting dingy enough to hide lack of cleanliness, whole thing had a weird Quentin Tarantino weird Hotel vibe. We had an un announced power outage for 30 mins.
