RecommendedMy daughter has been in the cheer program for about 4 years now and we love it! Her coach has been amazing and I appreciate that she's always had the same coach. Being in the cheer program has made her confindence soar and she has so much fun. On a side note - I personally agree with the no spectator policy. The girls need to focus on their coach, not their distracting family members on the sidelines. Family can enjoy all of their hard work at showcase!
ACTIVSTARS is a program I HIGHLY recommend for your children. This program not only teaches your children skills to grow as an athlete; but to also grow as a person. The cheerleading program encourages leadership, fairness, commitment; and of course FUN. Although I do not have children in this program (I would if I did), I have seen the transformation through friends and family. The dedication that the instructors give to ACTIVSTARS is impressive!
We absolutely love the cheer program at Foothills with Coach Tiffany! My daughter is in her 2nd semester and she just loves it! She has learned so much in the past few months and I can already see her confidence boosting. Coach Tiffany is so good at what she does. The girls all seem to love her. The communication is great, the parents seem involved, and we are state champs baby! That was exciting. We love Foothills Cheer!
My daughter joined ACTIVSTARS (formerly YCOA) Cheer in Fall 2014. She was a little reserved and shy as she was only 5 and this was her first extra-curricular activity. Within her first semester, her coach Jenan really believed in her and she excelled, jumping 2 pom colors at tryouts! We have now been with coach Tiffany for several semesters. As much as I want to love Activstars, they just can't seem to get it together. We did cheer with them for a semester and half. The first semester was great, the coach was good, my daughter learned many things and really enjoyed herself. This second semester was beyond unacceptable. The coach wasn't at practice several nights, but a substitute was there - which doesn't really work when the sub doesn't know the routine the girls are learning, the venue was changed once and another time practice got moved to another day. Our Assistant Coach at the location was the coach that filled in for the practices the head coached missed, and was well prepared for the team practices. We also brought in a veteran coach for the first one to provide additional support to ensure everything ran smoothly for the night. My daughter started their cheer leading program about 3 months ago. Right from the start there were red flags to me, as we were told parents were NOT allowed to stay and watch the practices. My daughter really wanted to do it, so I let her. Over the course of the next several weeks, I would watch the young high school aged instructor promise the students ribbons for doing their 'homework', only to have her return having done so, but the instructor 'forgot' the ribbons. The karate classes have become one of my daughter's favorite things in life! Her instructor, Riley Thompson, is wonderful. The classes are affordable. Well done, ActivStars!
