ABS is the only place to go for longboards. Real skaters, real shop. These guys eat, breathe and live longboarding. Great variety and a huge inventory, especially considering the size of the place. Prices are spot on and will help you keep it local. Experienced or not, they will help you find a board. They sponsor events and give away free stuff.
