SKIP THIS ONE! – We received very poor service, waited 40 minutes for entree to arrive, received a completely well-done crusty steak (ordered medium), and were told by an overly touch-happy manager that the deserts would be on the house. Of course they weren't. By the way, the steak came with no sides at all. It was a pretty sad presentation in a lousy restaurant. AVOID THIS PLACE. There are so many other and better restaurants around this area.

WOW! IF you want to try something new... – I am noticing that there have been no recent reviews.... I personally think Acqua al 2 (2 is said, Due, its 2 in Italian) is authentic, its not to say that Old Spaghetti Factory isnt but what Acqua al 2 has to offer is a special meal that any self respecting Florentine would go out to eat at a favorite ristorante. Its not the lasagna that their mothers would slave all day for. Plus, the owners just opened a fashionable little wine bar called TOAST(like salute) enoteca e cucina (wine... read more

Horrible Service – I had some friends visiting and took them here for dinner. The food was good, I have no complaints about the food. The service however, was horrific. I will not go back simply because of the service. If I am going to splurge on a good meal I want someone to take care of me. Then when we got the check over 3 1/2 hours later he had included a ridiculous tip because in his words' he didn't think we'd leave him one'. I was infuriated. But by this point we were late for the rest of the nights plans, and I was j... read more

Delicious Authentic Italian Food! – Great overall dining experience! I may be biased because I absolutely love Italian food, however this charming restaurant met all of my expectations. The menu had so many delicious looking dishes but the friendly and knowledgeable server helped us narrow down our options. We skipped the appetizer since Italian food is pretty heavy and we wanted to save room for dessert. I ordered the gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce which was light and creamy. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon topped with... read more

ANOTHER TOURIST TRAP – VERY AVERAGE FOOD. SLOW SERVICE. RUDE WHEN WE COMPLAINED ABOUT FOOD ARRIVING COLD. ANOTHER GASLAMP LOSER THAT SERVIVES ON THE TOURISTS.

Mediocre service, Overrated food – I have received far better service at my local diner. The list of reasons for our dissatisfying experience at this supposedly "authentic" Florentine restaurant is too long for print, but simply put, it is not worth it.

just like italy and some of the best pasta/steak anywhere – step 1: make a reservation (sometimes they are closed for private parties) step 2: go to acqua al 2 step 3: order the pasta sampler step 4: order the balsamic steak and the blueberry steak and share (approx 2 for 3 people)..you wont need more after the 5 pastas in the sampler step 5: thank me!

Creative Tuscan cuisine with a sister restaurant in Florence draws nightly crowds for an authentic taste of Italy in San Diego. – In Short With the original Aqua al 2 in Florence, Italy, the Gaslamp's sister location boasts an identical menu and similarly themed ambiance. Rustic brickwork and candlelit tables serve as an authentic backdrop for "creative Tuscan cuisine." The Assaggio di Primi is a house sampler of sorts; ideal for two, choose from antipasti to entrees for a total of five signature dishes. Of all menu items, b... read more

just like italy – I've been to the one in florence, and the one in san diego, and i love them both. Really great service, nice wine list, and the best balsamic steak you'll ever have.
