After I failed my smog test I was directed to go to a smog station. When they told my that it was my catalytic converter the reason why I failed they told me it would be around 700 dollars to fix the problem. I started looking online for the prices on Californina approved cats and they where around 175 bucks for a new one. I asked the person why so much money and he said it would cost 525 dollars for the cat plus labor. I came across ACE MUFFLERS and they told me 245 for a new cat and labor.
