My mom has a 2013 Mitsubishi that she bought used about 5 yrs ago and it only came with one key. My dad has been trying to get another key made for the longest time so I finally took him and the car to a local guy close to the small town they live in which is about 3hrs from Austin. Everybody should use ACE Locksmith for their key needs! I had a fob cover that broke and only needed to get a new key cut and move the magnet over to the new fob. Scammers were trying to charge me $150 minimum for this service, but Margaret was able to help me out for $5. I am so thankful for their transparency, willingness to help me out, and not scam me into paying way more than was necessary for what I needed. If I ever need to get a new key programmed in the future, I will definitely be going to ACE!
I recently bought a 2024 Ram2500 and needed a second key fob since the dealership only gave me one fob. I bought a key fob online and they were able to program the fob and also cut the key for me. They were very friendly and charged a very fair price.
Needed a key for my 2012 Subaru Outback cut and programmed. I brought my own key and they let me know that couldn't warranty it since I provided the key. I was fine with that. Pretty much every shop says this, and while I do get why they say it, the costs of these keys from any local source is just so high. I found a refurbished one online for $39 but everywhere local (dealer included) the key can cost as much as $200.
