History Established in 1970. In 1970, Herman and Grace Burggraf purchased Hanson's Hardware on the north side of Highway 2 between Johnson and Kaiser Avenues in Fosston, MN. Herman became known as "Hardware Hank" and employed each of his six children. Building of a new store at the present location in Fosston began in the fall of 1977, with moving days in February of 1978.
