Favorite summer burger place! Wish you guys were open all year. �
Great food and root beer...same as it was in the 1950's when I lived less than 2 miles from the Ace. The parking lot was gravel then and after playing baseball, we would ride to the Ace on our bicycles, race into the lot and skid the back wheel to throw gravel...the owner did not like that very much...but we left happy with our 25 cent quarts of roof beer...they were gone before we got back home.
My favorite place to eat. Been going there since I was a little kid, that's 50+ years. The poorboy (Italian beef) is the best in town. Better than Portillo's and that is saying something. Love the fries and root beer too. Have made the opening and closing days for years. Have got the kids trained to love it too.
Great food everytime I stop for a meal! Old fashion drive-in with excellent service! Since it is old fashion establishment, everyone from Joliet know to bring cash to pay for your meals. Just like when they opened in 1949!
Love it? Hate when it closes and can't wait for it to open next spring. Been going there for many, many years. It is a great drive in... Highly recommend.
