I bought a 3.8 motor for my 2006 grand prix may 8, 2012. I had the motor put in and it had cracked heads and blown head gaskets. I took that motor back and got another one and had this one put in. The motor wouldn't crank so I had the mechanic tear down the motor and the harmonic balancer was off 180degrees and it had a rod baring laying in the bottom of the oil pan and the timing cogs was shattered.
