Follow up debacle as I was denied insurance approval as they were in a transition to a new system. The trainer told the receptionist that my insurance was red flagged and denied follow up with urologist. The trainer said I could sign a waiver for services rendered but if my insurance did not pay I would be responsible. I told her very nicely that I would NOT sign waiver and they told me it was a issue with my insurance. Academic Urology is an administrative mess as whenever I call I get their stupid music and wait a minimum of 30-40 minutes to reach a real voice. Then if you're lucky to get a call back they have called me only minutes before closing so when I try to call back there's a message that says they are closed for the day. Totally unacceptable and I'm now looking for a new urologist. Plenty to choose from. I really appreciate the time and explanation of results that I received from Shelly Kirk NP. Far better than I received at their facilities by another FNP.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There is a minimum 40 min wait to ever get a hold of someone. They promise call backs to schedule surgeries but never follow through.
I had a straightforward appointment scheduled in November, in which I had to have the office call in a prescription. Then I needed to follow back up with them. Fast forward to the end of December. I had not heard anything from the office or pharmacy. I left a message with the office to get an update. Fast forward to January.
