This hotel is wonderful. It is in a great location in the Chinatown district (great local food) far removed from the tourist trap area which makes it easy to get your vehicle in and out to explore the island. It is classy with an elevated dining experience at the in house restaurant, and has a highly rated speakeasy bar in the basement. I stayed here for 6 weeks on business and my stay was top notch. It is close to downtown which is convenient if you have something in that area. The resturant and bars are good but a little pricey. The rooms were small and interesting layout. Barn door for the toilet and shower and sink is outside of that. Like that it has a mini refrigerator. Wall are pretty thin. Staff was nice and helpful.
Pros: None. Cons: - bitten alive by some bug in the bed (see photos) — did not sleep well and felt uncomfortable the entire stay - no apology given or at least that one night being eaten alive by bugs comped; also had to plead for a clean room, which you would assume would be an automatic given in light of the hygiene and sanitation issues with their original room - one of our guests had the Kama’aina rate but Jose did not inform him that the $35 resort fee credit was inapplicable to him - Jose did not mention there was a 24... read more
Pros: Nalu although we only encountered him upon check out when we had already had a terrible stay. Convenient down town location to great bars and restaurants.
