You may never have heard of T. B. Fitzpatrick, but he’s a Harvard dermatologist who created a scale in 1975 to determine what type of laser is best for someone looking for laser hair removal, depending on skin tone and hair color. Fittingly, the scale is now known as the Fitzpatrick Scale.

After treatment, you will likely notice the treated hair falling out for the following month following laser hair removal treatment. Over the course of your treatments, you will notice less and less hair returning until most of the hair simply stops returning. Your laser hair removal specialist will help work up a schedule that works best for you.

Following your laser hair removal treatment, your hair will fall out in about 10 to 14 days. The laser light used will target a number of follicles with each pulse, enabling your laser hair removal professional to cover larger sections in a single treatment.

Lasers offer hair removal using pulsed light. It isn't painful, but may be temporarily uncomfortable for some people -- especially when dealing with some areas of the body. Most consider it a welcome alternative to other depilatory methods.

Microdermabrasion is tough enough to help with the thick skin on elbows and hands, while safe and gentle enough for the delicate skin of the arms and face.

While collagen treatments may be viewed as a purely cosmetic skin procedure, it's not just about making your skin look younger. It will also appear and become stronger in the process.

One of the biggest benefits of laser hair removal is that it is simple and fast. There’s no wax or other substance left behind. A session could take 30 minutes or less and you’re on your way immediately when the technician is finished.

Hair removal lasers rely on hair pigment to destroy hair follicles. The more pigment present in the hair, the more effectively the process works. Contrast helps, too. Laser hair removal typically works best on people with light skin and darker hair.

Do you feel uncomfortable with needles? If so, you may not want to try electrolysis, which involves a needle pushed into the skin and into an existing hair follicle. Using electrical energy, electrolysis destroys a follicle and then moves on to another.
