Very unprofessional office In the waiting room of Abingdon Family Practice you will experience pharmaceutical advertisements pumped through loud speakers at regular intervals. It is unethical for doctors to promote drugs. The children's book selection consists almost entirely of bible stories, evidently assuming all children visiting will be fundamentalist Christians. I was sent a copy of my blood work results without any explanation from the office. I was left to interpret my results on my own. This compares poorly to my do... read more
Execellent Dr. Cook is very caring and takes her time. She is the first one who believed that I had a medical condition that I had been telling other doctors for years! My husband also goes to her and even though we have moved over an hour away from Abingdon, we continue to see her. As for the comment about the children's books only being Bibles... those are given free to offices so it isn't like the doctors purchased only those books. Dr. Jolanda Cook-Abingdon Family Practice I have been Dr. Cook's patient for five years. She has an intuitive understanding of my medical conditions. She takes her time, and answers my questions. As a 62 year old diabetic, asthmatic, neuralgia, and fibromyalgia sufferer, Dr. Cook is willing to try new treatments, and she keeps careful watch through blood tests, to make certain my meds are not toxic. Quite frankly, she has both changed my life and saved it.

Great Doctor I thin Dr. Cook is a terrific family doctor. She is caring and compassionate. I have had difficulties with her staff at times, but I have decided it is worth putting up with some frustration to have her a my physician.

Waste of time The review about this office allowing drug reps to take control of the lobby is 100% correct...For the hour that you have to wait to see a doctor you could cite the manual about the drugs you viewed to anyone. Get some nice music in the lobby and turn off the big screen. The wait is incredible, they do not call in the prescriptions to the correct pharmacy...(one mistake is fine...perhaps even 2, but three times to the wrong one?) give me a break.
