About this business

The lodge is situated on 280 sunny hillside acres, 15 minutes from Fairbanks. Massive spruce trees were logged from the homestead and crafted into the unique structure of A Taste of Alaska Lodge. The 7000 square-foot natural log building, completed in 1995, is decorated with antiques and Alaskan collectibles. In 1947, the original 160 acres was homesteaded by Walter & Dorothy Eberhardt who developed the land for farming. Walter continues to farm it today. Our Northern Lights viewing is one of the finest in the Tanana Valley,... read more

Fabulous!! Amazing!! Debbie and her staff are wonderful. Room was comfy and homey. Food was marvelous. Views were outstanding. The aurora viewing cabin was a welcome plus. Can't say enough good things about this lodge. It's a must stay in the Fairbanks area.

My husband and I and one friend shared the Spruce House for 3 nights the end of March. We saw the Aurora 3 times, twice from the comfort of our wrap around porch. At this time of year, pick up snow grips for your shoes at Fred Meyers. The ice from repeated thaws n re-freezing, made walking around very slippery. The cabin itself was comfortable and inviting and clean. Breakfasts were good. They accommodated our friend who is a vegetarian. Great stay!

A Taste of Alaska Lodge far exceeds expectations. The staff are very knowledgeable and feel like family. The accommodations are great. The food is wonderful. This is the only place to stay in this area. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else.

Perfect location and facility to view the northern lights. We booked our tour through Gondwana Ecotours. Couldn't have been more pleased with the tour company or the accommodations at A Taste of Alaska Lodge. Near enough to Fairbanks if you need something, but far enough out for the aurora viewing to not be affected by the city lights.
