O stars! Bought water heater yesterday and it doesn't work. They won't refund and their approved service people won't even travel to where we live. So they want us to now pay to have this fixed and the water heater hasn't even been in my house for 24 hours! Joke of a business
My AO Smith Hot water heater is electronically controlled by a combo (ONE) thermostat, that sends electronic message to the heater to heat the water when water is demanded. This Hot Water Heater is supposed to be top of the line. It heated the water (this is the second time this heater has done this) to 260 degrees!!…Had my grandchildren been in the shower or tub, or my wife or myself, that type of heat would taken the skin off your body. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with any company to date, 1st they didn't want to honor my warranty and I had to prove that my hot water heater was covered, then they made me on several occasions get them Itemized Invoice from the company who installed the hot water heater and that wasn't enough I was told once I submitted my claim it would take up to 30 days to receive my payment, keep in mind I've already wasted over a month going back and forth between them and the company I bought it from ( make sure you kn... read more
Terrible company. Doesn’t put the customer before the company. Been working with a faulty water heater for 4 months and they refuse to provide the RA# so I can get our money back. Cold showers have become the new norm.
Do not purchase these water heaters from Lowe's. I am the Plumbing manager for a National Plumbing Company and we installed 2 of these 40 gallon gas water heaters within in the last 6 months and both of them wouldn't stay lit. The first time this happened the installation was in an attic so not an easy job, and it was not easy to have A.O. Smiths tech support issue us another one but they did, but never covered my Plumbers time to drain the water heater, take it back to Lowe's and install it again.
