There is no company on earth as fraudulent and misleading as AHOYO. We built a home with them in 2003 and it was the biggest nightmare of our life. Constant lying and miscommunication, no general contractor or foreman to be found most of the time. They don’t call you back or answer any emails. They say things are included in the cost of the house and then they say we have to pay after it gets done. Subcontractors don’t get paid and then they come to us looking to get paid. Don't even consider using this company or Dan Jacobson. He lied to us from the very start. Said he would be down every 2 to 3 weeks when the house framing got started to check on the house. Well guess what that guy never once came to the job site ever. I'm not even sure he new where it was at. All Dan Jacobson cared about was getting that next payment, cared nothing about us as the customer. This guy was so money hungry . The communication issues with this company are grossly understated with the previous rating. They showed up once during the entire time that our home was being built, and very hard to get in touch with on the phone or by e-mail. They often would ignore my calls and e-mails for weeks at a time. They made many mistakes while building our home, including sending the wrong plans to their sub contractors to get the basement poured. We went with A Home of Your Own because we had seen the quality of their work and the fact that we could get a set contract price. We would never have been able to build our home if it weren't for them. Our house is great and carpenter Norman Roers is FANTASTIC!!! Things went along pretty well through most of the building process until the very end.
