Second chance Since the new ownership of the Friendly Foam Shop, what a transformation!! Calling it a new store would be a severe understatement. Great service, friendly young people who are full of knowledge, and awesome recommendations. I was a little skeptical because I had been there before and the previous owners were less than satisfactory. Love my new cushions!
Great Service!!! I had no idea what kind of foam I needed and was leary of ordering online. When I went to the Foam Shop It was busy but was pleasently greeted and helped within a couple of mins. Dean, the new owner of the store helped me and I cant be happier with the service and quality of foam I needed to get for my mom who has medical needs. I would rate this place a 10 for customer service, quality of the products and at a cost far below the online places I was looking at!
Love these guys! I found this shop/my shopping experience to be a bit unique, but, truth be told, I didn't know anything about what I actually needed when I showed up. The person that helped me was busy, but explained the best way/product for my project. When it turned out that my measurements (my fault) were a bit off, they cut and glued materials to make my project work. They've been doing this (according to the guy I talked to) from the 70's; that must mean that they are doing something right.
not happy Whoa. My expensive order took a week, then they only had one piece in (but didn't call before I drove there). Went back in two days. Can't find my piece. Don't have any idea where the other guy put it. Not a good experience.
Yuck I wish I saw that other review below...I would never of gone then. Looks like this place is a scam. They were nice when I made my expensive order but once they got my money, they were a different story. I've never been mad enough to write a negative review about a business and I am so disappointed with the Friendly Foam Shop on Roosevelt Way in the U.District. Poooor service ugg...just got off the phone with the Friendly Foam shop and that name couldnt be more misleading. A callous staff was completely unconcerned with my questions. I will go somewhere else.
NOT for beginners. Predators. The Friendly Foam Shop in Seattle has been there for decades, now appears to be taken over by predators who dont care anymore. For starters they dont have much foam in stock. In 2012 I went in for something they must hear all day.. foam for a temporary sleeping pad, like if you go camping. So they say that cut foam would cost too much, because its 'special order', but I could buy one that has a 'cloth cover' already sewn onto it. So now I have to pay for the 'cloth cover' too. Now its a high pri... read more
Great Prices Nice Guys I could hardly disagree more with the other reviews. The prices here are way below comparable businesses. As to the staff, I think they are the owners. Yes, they are not fawning, Nordstrom-like dudes. BUT, they are friendly, funny, and honest. Yes, custom orders take time. Yes, they keep records on paper, not computers. Yes, there is a "quirk" factor. BUT WHEN YOU ARE SAVING 50% OVER THE COMPETITORS' PRICES, THAT IS A SMALL BURDEN.
