We have hired, A Friend Indeed for our elderly mother who suffers from dementia. She is in a nursing home and at the beginning she was lost, lonely and very depressed. I first heard of Robyn and A Friend Indeed about 10 ish years ago when my mother-in-law, Dawna, moved to a seniors residence in Airdrie. Robyn is a very pleasant person who we enjoyed meeting and watching how easily she engaged with the residents. After retiring from a career in education I was looking for something to fill my days. I stumbled upon A Friend Indeed and loved the services they had to offer. I had the absolute pleasure of working with A Friend Indeed in the role of a Friend/companion for 2 and a half years. I was approached by a resident at my father's facility who told me (and I fully agree!!) that my father (who has advanced dementia) is being taken care of by the Friends Indeed Care Companions as well as I do! They do all sorts of creative, engaging and fun activities with him all the while treating him with respect and empathy. I am the first to admit that I have very high standards for caring for our elderly and the 'Friends' surpass my expectations 'Indeed'! I can't thank them enough.
I had a very positive experience with A Friend Indeed, I want to share.
