While it may seem like a chore ideally suited for the weekend, removing a stump is hard work. Very hard work - unless you have the right tools; even then, it’s no walk in the park. But when you add up the costs of the equipment and the time and labor spent trying to remove the stump, it is smarter to hire a team of professionals.

Dig out tree roots and cut them back when removing the stump, then cut the roots into small pieces and pull them out of the soil. They can be composted or mulched.
