Great steaks and service. The atmosphere is wonderful and romantic and a great place to have brought my wife for dinner.
We were visting KC with some friends and staying at the marriott downtown, they told us about 801 chophouse when we asked for a good steakhouse for dinner... It was very nice n clean everyone was friendly BUT food sucked. All our steaks were ordered med-well none came out right they were so burnt we didnt eat one of them, wouldnt even feed them to a homeless man! I could not believe the quality of the food that came out to us, expecialy for the price. We will never go there again.
Its really about time Kansas City got a new steakhouse downtown that was NOT a chain! I am so sick of Capitol Grill and Mortons! I have eaten at the 801 in Des Moines a few time while on business and was pleasently suprised when I saw them open in KC. The inside of the restaurant is amazing! The food, while being a bit pricey, is awesome! The chef should be commended! The prime rib is superb. Service is very good and attentive to your needs.
