For the price, there are much better places to go! – For the price the food and service was just not that good. SOHO BEST RESTAURANT !!! – We had heard about 717 South from the hotel where we were staying at. The concierge highly recommended this restaurant--and we are so happy he did. This was one of the best meals we have had in 2008 and what a wonderful ambiance. Good food... poor service – Our night started with a reservation for 4 people on 2/9/08. 2 of us arrived on time and were seated promptly. We waited for our friends for 15mins and then finally found them at the bar. These are friends that are NEVER late. They were told that there was no reservation under the given name and were rudely told by the host that maybe they had the incorrect reservation. Best of both worlds – Itneresting spin on Pacific Rim and Italian food, they have them both. Fun upbeat atmosphere. There is a private room for parties and a nice open bar area if you have to wait at all. Food was delicous and we tried a little bit from both worlds. Portions are large, appetizers could easily be a meal.
