One of the selling points was that the PPF + coating would strongly repel water and protect paint. In practice, water beads looked great for a week or two, but once actual rain and car washes came, water just pools and stains stay more stubborn than I was told. Doesn’t seem to last as promised. If this is the norm, the high cost wasn’t worth it.”

After the vinyl wrap job, the hood looks great in direct light, but the doors and rear quarter have a duller appearance — there’s visible waviness in the vinyl under certain angles. It seems like the installer didn’t properly stretch or laid the sheet with inconsistent tension. From a distance okay, but up close you can’t ignore it.”

They quoted a 3-day turnaround for work. My car ended up waiting in the shop for a week, and I got almost no updates. I called a few times, but each time they said “still working,” no specifics. On pickup, they said material delays, but no apology or even a discount for how long it dragged out. Really frustrating to plan around when they give you a timeline and don’t stick to it.”

“I had full paint protection film installed on my front bumper and mirrors about four months ago, and now the edges are already lifting and peeling along the mirrors. 5280 Vinyl said their PPF is high quality, but this lift lets dirt collect and water get under it. When I contacted them about warranty, they told me edge lift is “wear & tear” so not covered. Very disappointed, especially for the price.”

“I got a quote over the phone for a standard wrap + tint. When I picked up my car, I was handed a bill that was hundreds of dollars more—with “trim removal,” “edge sealing,” and some other charges I wasn’t made aware of. They said the job “required extras” after seeing the car, but I wish I’d gotten a fully itemized quote up front. Felt like the rug was pulled out from under me.”
