Shitty Service!!! – This was the first time that I went to this restaurant - the food and drinks were great but the service was shitty !!!! Our server got our order mixed up and was the most anal idiot after that......sorry dude we cannot help if you cannot hear beyond the metallica melody.....I will go again only if I could pick another server...........
BURRRRRRRRRRito – 5 Burros has good mexican dishes, reasonably priced- and good strong margaritas. I have been there 3 times and gotten the same thing 3 times.. The burritos. Steak twice and chicken once. The steak was good one of the times, wasnt good the second. Chicken Burrito was ok. I will occasionally come back if I am in the Forest Hills area again.
Only Mx spot in Austin Street – Long wait after 6pm and small place but the fish tacos and margaritas are great!
Decent Food, Long Wait – Unfortunately, 5 Burros has a bit of a monoply in Forest Hills when it comes to Mexican food. The food here tastes great, but always leaves me feeling like I weigh 400 pounds, and usually gives me "Montezuma's revenge". I ALWAYS have to wait to be seated if it's after 6 pm and what really annoys me is that even if there are 2 tables which sit 4 people open, they won't sit a couple so that if I wait for a half hour and a table of 4 walks in, they get to sit and eat ahead of us...huh?! Delicous Mexican Food – The Camerones Salsa Verde are a highlight on this delicious Mexican menu. It's a tasty mexican take on Shrimp Scampi in a spicy green tomatillo sauce. A classic. We also eat the Burro Jalepeno Burger and Sirloin Steak Brava regularly. As well, try the Enchiladas Del Norte with Mole Sauce. Excellent.
great food and drinks – i've been here plenty of times and have never been disappointed! everything on the menu is great, from the burger to their steak enchiladas. Their drinks are great and never weak! the staff is somewhat friendly at times, depends who you get, but overall you get good service. it gets pretty crowded and it also gets pretty loud on nights and weekends but do try it during the early afternoon for a nice afternoon early dinner. GREAT place, love it. definitely one of my favorite places!
Children Welcome? Absolutely not our son! He didn't even have the honor to be seated properly. Today my husband and I stopped by at the restaurant with our 16-month-old at around 12:30pm for brunch. The restaurant was less than 50% filled. legged creatures galore – There is a high population of roachez. Try not to sit in the back or near the stairs.. roachez..roachez... roichez.. The workers will ignore every single creepy crawler.. they are all desensitzed from patron reactions.. when one is found crawling on your table or your corn chip. They hear you scream and nothing stops.. they act like they dont hear you!! LOL!! only go for drinks if anything..
Authentic Mexican food in F. Hills – I just went for lunch on a weekday, after not having been there for a while, though I live in the area. I've had a lot of Mexican food all over the NYC area and I can honestly say that the food here does not disappoint. Yes, it's a very small place and if you want room and quiet, you won't get it here on weekends or nights, but if you have a hankering for excellent Mexican food, try it out early for lunch sometime on any given day.
