Save yourself the headache. Multiple complexes better than this place. I’ve had items stolen, absent staff when assistance is needed and the elevator here you’d think was from 40 years ago the amount of times it’s been down. As a single woman, I will not be renewing lease in 9 months for what I pay (over $2600) no utilities covered. Definitely need to take the “luxury” out of the name.
I am tired of walking up stairs and having delivery drivers upset at me bc the elevator won’t work half the time. It went out last night and my delivery was left somewhere I still can’t find. The manager is nice, but the contractors used are poor at best. Sane issues continue to happen.
I have had issues since my move in day and what follows is one of the reasons I am not renewing my lease for 4801 Shattuck Apartments. Elevator has again stopped working. This is the third time over 4 months. Note that it took 1+ months to get it fixed the first time. Have decided to reach out to the city after the latest closure. If you want to consistently face issues, this is the spot for you. Also, when you contact emergency maintenance expect to be hung up on and then get unprofessional and angry texts back.
I Really enjoy this establishment for the most part; Oakland has a lot to see and do! Any request that I have are usually met promptly! Most staff are usually very professional and thorough and the security at night is very reassuring.

I would recommend further development or training for some of the contractors hired to clean the building as they have consistently made efforts to get involved with me personally in an unprofessional manner. I have nothing to do with clean up of the building and should not be confronted by anyone ever.
