Great place to call home!
Been living here for about 7 months. I really wish I could give a better review but sadly I can’t. There are too many “cons” to mention and zero positive comments I can think of. Oakland apartment buildings are a racket and this place is no different. If you’re spending $2,500+ do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. We can’t wait until our lease is over to leave this complex.
I have had issues since my move in day and what follows is one of the reasons I am not renewing my lease for 4801 Shattuck Apartments. Elevator has again stopped working. This is the third time over 4 months. Note that it took 1+ months to get it fixed the first time. Have decided to reach out to the city after the latest closure. If you want to consistently face issues, this is the spot for you. Also, mailroom theft is an issue. If you unfortunately decide to live here make sure you use the lockers provided.
I am tired of walking up stairs and having delivery drivers upset at me bc the elevator won’t work half the time. It went out last night and my delivery was left somewhere I still can’t find. The manager is nice, but the contractors used are poor at best. Same issues continue to happen. Mail theft is a common issue here.
