Great atmosphere while enjoying some delicious brews
These reviews made me smile (a couple of them made my laugh!) as I thought about my wonderful year living at 40 Cannon. Jim and Gina showed me the apartment on a holiday when they happened to be in the office, putting off their plans to suit my schedule. When I moved in they invited me over to meet my new neighbor over a beer. Later they offered to watch my kid for me when I had to work from home all night! Yep. That's how they roll. Security? Mix-commerical/residential building. Really cool concept! The residential area is secured, while the ground level is open to the public. Love the lobby space which is also an art gallery. It has a beautiful industrial vibe. The brewery has a large selection of beer while the wine bar offers a curated selection of wine, meat, cheese, and bread. There is also a cafe that features coffee from North River Roasters (a local roaster) and Harney and Sons tea.
One night night 8 months ago a group of us tenants headed to the 2nd floor balcony for what is now known as “a porch beer”. Upon arrival we saw a new couple eating dinner utilizing the community space. When our “porch beer” turned into “porch beer(S)”. I mentioned my living room closet. This sparked an interest(and envy of my super cool closet)as we all learned how unique each of our units are. Where else can you find an apartment community that has a cafe, a wine bar, a brewery and an art gallery!?? The art openings offer a chance for tenants to come together. Those that live here have walking access to free public events like First Friday and Poughkeepsie Open Studios. The garden has provided additional ways for me to participate in my community.
