I am always scared of the dentist, nothing personal, but 1st Impression Dental in Crown Heights and Dr. Shahin make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. I had two root canals and crowns done by Dr. Shahin, and they look great and were so easy and painless to my surprise. I'm still anxious about seeing the dentist but nowhere near I was before. I have referred two of my colleagues to 1st Impression Dental, and they are also thanking me for it.
In November 2020, I underwent several dental treatments performed by Dr. Shahin, which included dental implants, a filling, and bonding on two teeth. I did do some research, but after some of my issues with the doctor, I took a deeper dive investigated found many reviews that I no longer there, and I noticed many people had my same experience pain not only during them treatments but for long periods after treatments as nice as he was Dr. Shahin wasn’t very gentle maybe even tough on patients, which was evident during my expe... read more
I wouldn't recommend 1st Impression Dental. My experience cleaning wise went well the first 2 times. But when it came to a situation where my insurance changed and I wasn't able to come in for a cleaning, they charged me a $50 rescheduling fee, They were really corporate and stingy about it and there was no leniency. Due to the way the person billing me handled the situation, I ended up paying them the $50 rescheduling fee and finding another dentist. Dear Matt, We are sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with us, and we do have flexibility, and we realize that things come up, but when we schedule an appointment for a patient, we leave half hour or an hour specifically for that patient. We believe the time that we dedicate to our patients are more important than swags. However, when there are multiple missed appointments, that is the time that we could have dedicated to other patients, and missing appointments without enough notice will increase the cost of case. I have a dental phobia since being injured by a dentist who injected too much Novocaine into my jaw too quickly several years ago. This is the first dentist that I've been able to see that doesn't send me into a panic attack just walking into the office. Everyone is great and they stick to appointment times. I have since moved out of the neighborhood but keep coming back to the dentist here. And they accept my insurance!
