I am the Broker of 1st Choice Realty, I would like to respond to Drew Pick. He did receive his entire security deposit back even though he left his apartment full of dishes, pots, pans, food, empty cans, & broken furniture on the curbside - and I am being generous at saying it was half cleaned up, I hired a cleaning person to come in and paid her out of my own pocket. I also assisted him with rent when he was struggling of which he paid back, but.... these are the type of people that usually complain unfortunately.

They were good people to rent from while i was there but when i moved to Utah, it was past Iowa law of 30 days to get my deposit back. They knew the day i left was August 3rd, she even text me the day of and i said yes i was gone. Had they gotten the deposit back to me before the law says, there would be no issue. But state law says a full refund is to be given back past 30 days from the day I move out. She could've mailed it to my old address in LeMars cause I had a forwarding address applied to my place in Utah. 10 days ha... read more
