Zu Izakaya — Hidden Gem for Budget-Friendly Asian Food in Arizona! Zu Izakaya has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Arizona for Japanese and Korean-inspired food, and the vibe alone is worth the visit. Ordered ramen to go. It was the worst ramen I’ve ever had. Just one big clump of paste flavored noodles that wouldn’t break apart no matter what we did.
Nearby to ASU. Local sushi/ramen joint to get your fix. Not the highest quality but tasty, friendly staff and affordable. They have early happy hour and late happy hour with a good menu. Daily drink special of their sake bomb and beer for $6.95. Worth a stop to check it out. Though if you are looking for higher quality sushi might want to try elsewhere.
NEW LUNCH SPOT… $15.95 chefs sashimi special. Are you joking?! Every piece of fish is cut thick and perfect. Had the edamame and tempera vegetables as well. Quiet, cute, inviting. Chill on a Thursday lunch. Sat at the bar top with my book and enjoyed every moment. Sad they were out of the green tea cheesecake but I’ll be back for that.
