I was told by a local customer of mine to try this place out. Glad I did. 😊 I ate there twice last week and it was great both times. I recommend you get there early, they start running out around 1 P.M. Brisket was in the top 3 of best I've ever had. Homemade sausage was awesome! Staff is super friendly and courteous. Will definitely be back.
The quality of food is amazing and consistent. Best barbecue I have eaten anywhere. The owners and their staff are great. Kind people anxious to make sure you get what you need and want. We are blessed to have this wonderful family in Smithville.

RecommendedGreat down home food, and friendly caring staff . I feel at home and loved when I’m there. And you done leave without trying they’re ribs to die for and brisket and their chicken is the boom. Everything thing is good, even the jalapeño peppers!

RecommendedMy daughter and I have lived in Smithville for almost 4 years and we just had Zimmerhanzel's for the first time about a week or so ago. They have AMAZING food!!! I recommend the chopped beef baked potato...its the best!! My daughter just had a wrap-around and their sausage is really good too. And they have great prices!!!
RecommendedSmitty's in Lockhart is my favorite . mostly because of the sausage and shoulder but this place is a must try!!! definitely in my top 5 of barbeque restaurants! Heck... maybe even second overall favorite! better then Southside and kreuz...! yup... that's right! 👍👍👍 and no one beats their price for product!
