ZLMC provided me with my introduction to insight/mindfulness meditation that has enriched my life. Roshi Robert and June have created an oasis of calm contemplation and spirituality in a chaotic world. Their warmth and the kindness of the practitioners gave me the support and confidence to begin my practice and while I am not able to be as active locally, I have continued a rich and rewarding path of daily practice. I will forever be indebted to ZLMC and it holds a special place in my heart🙏
Ive attended several events at ZLMC as well as Sunday Morning Zen. I am not a Buddhist but enjoy learning. Every event has been welcoming.and meaningful. The space is beautiful and peaceful. . The people I have met have been great. I will be back.
ZLMC is the real thing ..: I have felt truly seen and received at a true place. Buddha’s profound teachings, today’s zen, offered with a gentle (often quirky) smile.
I just absolutely love this Zen Center! Zen Life and Meditation center has been a major part of my active spiritual and social life since 2011. I particularly like our weekly "Sunday Morning Zen" when many of us get together to sit in meditation, listen to a dharma talk, and afterward, gather to chat and have snacks. And it's easy to get to, even though I live in downtown Chicago.
I came to ZLMC from another Buddhist tradition. I had been reading a lot of Thich Nhat Hanh literature and it strongly resonated with me. In ZLMC I found what I had been looking for, A loving , compassionate community that feels like home. I would recommend ZLMC to anyone as the ideal place to start or continue a spiritual journey.
