My husband purchased my engagement ring from the Midland Zales 27 years ago. Since that store closed, I took my ring to the Bay City store to be repaired. The lady that waited on me was quite rude. She told me that the ring was not from Zales but that she could look at it and quote a repair price. This seemed to annoy her. She didn’t try to look up our purchase through the computer (didn’t know this was an option until I went to Kay’s). She kept saying she’d worked for Zales for 32 years, blah, blah, blah. Sam was a wonderful person and extremely helpful. She took her time and showed all options available. I left a very happy person and my wife is happy as well.
I've had my rings inspected every six months for years, and since they are rhodium plated, I've occasionally had Zales send them in to be re-plated during the same visit. Due to the Zales location near me closing years ago (without any warning to their customers), the closest Zales is a half an hour away from my house. I last week I drove to Bay City to have my rings inspected and asked to have them re-plated, but I was told I can't have that done on the same day as the inspection.
