This place was a great find. Coming right off of being back in Japan, so you could say my expectations were low. Zaku did not disappoint. While I would not place them in the authentic camp, their flavors are spot on and notably their grilled fish prep, especially the hamachi kama, was done perfectly and a great value. They have some yakitori selections that might be less popular with western tastes, but those items also hit strong. The sushi we got felt so fresh which I loved. Bonus points for the salmon skin maki it was so so tasty! We also got the calamari and it was so good. We didn’t love the crispy shrimp roll, the texture felt a little weird and it was a mix of hot and cold which felt weird. Other than that the food was delicious and fresh. The service was amazing too, our waiter was extremely friendly. Thank you! Will be coming soon
