Beautiful home full of quirky pieces. The beds and bathrooms were plush. Was so comfortable here we really didn’t need to go anywhere else to chill out and relax.
What a beautiful warm inviting home, from the moment we walked through the front door we felt at home, the floors the doors the decor was absolutely beautiful. 3 baths to choose from was a lovley suprise, and 3 generous sized bedrooms with the most comfortable king sized beds and warm and toasty doonas. The over sized bath towels we very luxurious. The kitchen was amazing and huge!! We loved the 2 living rooms, so comphy and bright. Highly recommended for couples families and girls weekend away.
Zahalka House is a decor treaure trove of commonplace, exotic and esoteric items. We spent a most enjoyable afternoon in the cosy Den off the kitchen playing old10inch acetates and vynil LP's on the excellent radiogram, in front of the log fire. We particularly liked the comfortable beds and down pillows! Zahalka is eclectic, charming and relaxing.
A house made out of the dreams of someone I'd really like to know. Materialising toward the back end of town, on peaceful East street, and like something out of a different century (take your pick, this house has a few), and country (Mediterranean seems to be the closest I can fit the building's look to) Rachel's house in Daylesford, the wonderfully named 'Zahalka House' has played host to my longing to get away from it all, a few times now over the last couple of years. Zahalka House is an absolute gem. The location is picture perfect, there are incredible views from every angle over the beautiful garden and amazing walks (including to Jubilee Lake and through the mineral springs and marshes with interesting historic goldfield sites just over the back fence!) the house itself has everything you want and need for a perfect getaway, great kitchen facilities, luxurious bedding and incredibly comfortable beds, a fabulous collection of books, games, records, colourful eclectic treasures, lovely ... read more
