This famous Chicago-style pizza company is always packed with UC students, families and out-of-towners. No one seems to mind the 20-minute (or more!) wait for the stuffed masterpiece. The pizza is made as thick as a pumpkin pie (yes, you do need a knife and fork), and the ingredients are put on upside down with tomatoes on top, meat on the bottom. So filling and so delicious, count on bringing home leftovers. For those with a slightly lesser appetite, they also serve thin crust pizzas that are just as delectable.

Recently visited this place after being away for a few years. Disappointed to find that their crust has become doughy and not thin crust as it states. It was sub par from a few years ago.
Best Pizza in Nor Cal Tired of flat boring 5 dollar domino pizzas? Go to Zachary's for a taste of authentic chicago pizza. Definitely try out the stuffed deep dish chicken pizza. One slice is usually enough for the average person, but will leave you wanting another. I suggest going early as it definitely gets crowded during dinner time any day of the week.
Yummy but not heavenly... OK, #1 Zachary's deep dish pizza is very good. But... This reminds of the time I visited the Eiffel Tower. After thousands of dollars in airfare and hotels, and hours and hours of travel, there it was. Just like in a picture book... Blah, boring... AMAZING!!! This is an amazing place to eat some pizza! It is almost as if I was back in New York! Deep Dish here is AMAZING, I would recommend this place to ANYONE!!
Pizza at its Best Zachary's has excellent pizza. I mostly get take-out since its so busy. If you want a real Chicago pizza this is the place to go. Parking is tricky sometimes though.

Excellent Deep Dish Excellent Chicago-style (Deep Dish) pizza in Oakland. Lines can be long, but move fairly fast. Worth the wait. It's where all the locals go.
Best Pizza Ever, Chicago-style or otherwise Really, Zachary's is in my Top 5 Reasons to live in Berkeley. If I had to leave, I know this would be the place I'd miss.
