My brother had open heart surgery a couple of weeks ago. Dr. Lin was his surgeon. I was there from pre-op admission to my brother’s discharge to a physical therapy rehab unit. Dr. Lin was terrific throughout. The surgery went very well, his aftercare was focused and regular and the outcome has been ideal. He is a man of few words but if you ask him a question he is thorough and engaging with his answers. I first met him in the ER at Palomar Hospital as I had a cracked Sternum where I had a plate in it which had cracked. He was rude, terrible bed side manner and said there's nothing he could do. I then was in the ER at UCSD in extreme pain and was then referred to a surgeon who had to remove the plate as it was in pieces. 2 -3 years later the pain is so bad, it feels like a knife is cutting into me and Dr. Lin tells me I am fine before taking an exam or CT SCAN.
Dr. Lin is undoubtedly a preeminent expert in his field but that alone isn’t what sets him apart. His manner with me was both warm and wise. He visited each day with a fresh attitude and shared it with me. He made me feel reassured and confident. I want to extend my highest praise.
This Dr. (Dr.Lin) saved my husband life! He had an excellent bedside manner and was patient and kind, in addition to being a brilliant surgeon. He has healing hands. He explained all options for care and allowed us to make an informed decision as to what surgical option we wanted. The incision is minimal and stitched up cleanly. Dr. Lin took me in for bypass surgery even after an extra long day and finished late at night. I am grateful he took the extra time for me at a stressful time.Everything went smooth.
