We’re a condominium building on the gulf side of Longboat Key. We lost about 80% of our landscaping after the hurricanes last fall. Tom designed the entire beach side of our property, the area around our pool, he created a special focus of plants around the beach walkover and designed a new more accessible section of pavers to the beach. Don’t be thrown off by the name…..there’s no bamboo in our lovely landscape design provided by Tom Younkman after an on-site visit. We are a relatively new construction home with a meager & all green landscape design provided by the builder. We were looking for color so every plant brings color including hibiscus, bougainvillea, Thai plants, croton, etc. Wanting to get the most “bang for our buck”, the Younkman crew transplanted the over abundance of existing podocarpus along the side of the house to fill in a blank expanse.... read more

We hired Younkman’s Bamboo Gardens to remove 20 year old landscaping that was overgrown and looking very tired.. We wanted almost no maintenance, as we are not physically able to keep up with how fast everything becomes overgrown. . Really love the Brookstone rocks they put in. We had new hibiscus planted down the sides of the house, and new foxtail palm in back, and kept everything else in stone in back., We kept the Bougainvillea and added new mammy crotons in the front with an addition of three large stones. Tom and his team were amazing. We had them design and install landscaping around a new pool install. Tom showed up when he promised, coordinated with the irrigation contractor and ensured everything was done exactly as planned. His plant selections were perfect. We couldn’t be happier with Tom and his team. We will continue to use him and highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional landscaping job.
