I am so thankful to Dr. Herman and his wonderful staff! Special thanks to Owen who assisted Dr. Herman with Joy's nail trim -- a 2 person job as our cat is very skittish! You can sense Dr. Herman's kindness and compassion for animals immediately. This office is a great blessing to all pet owners! Thank you, Dr. Herman, and thank you, Owen! Disappointing experience. I brought my cat in for a physical and some vaccines. I also requested a nail trim and refill of his medication. The doctor was rude and the assistant was nonchalant. They forgot to do the nail trim and give me a prescription refill. The whole atmosphere of this place is super casual and unprofessional, and they charge a fortune for everything. Will not be returning.
I have yet to bring in our cat Joy, but spoke to Dr. Herman yesterday about the difficulty in getting our cat into the carrier for her appointment (even with 100 mgs of Gabapentin in her system, the 'towel method' didn't work!) Dr. Herman could have been annoyed, but instead he offered his help & advised that I could go a little higher on the Gabapentin (she is about a 15-16 pound cat). What a kind, understanding, fair-minded vet! One can't do better than Dr. Herman! I believe all the great reviews!
York Veterinary Center seems like a trusted neighborhood clinic that truly cares about pets — love how welcoming it feels just from the outside. Feels like the kind of place people go back to again and again. Just a small observation — while the website has all the info, a more balanced design and easier-to-read layout could really reflect the warmth and professionalism the clinic already offers in person. (I'm a web developer, so I tend to notice these little details — hope you don’t mind me sharing!)
