My second visit was a bit disappointing. I'll preface my critique by saying that the Caesar salad was the best I've experienced in New Mexico. I ordered the ka bobs. The beef was very tough. Reminde me of my first marriage. I'll return. No kabobs next time.
Ordered pickup for a quick lunch on the road. And what a surprise! Yo Mama’s reminds me of everything there is to love about classic American food, but with their own unique and New Mexican touch. We love the food at this restaurant. Great choices and always well prepared. The service has been great in the past as well. Today was our first time back since we last visited Socorro in 2025. Unfortunately, the waitperson seating us and serving our table today was truly awful. She was gruff, acting rushed and bothered throughout our meal, despite the restaurant being nearly empty mid-afternoon. This was a fun stop. We went their for a friend's birthday. The good was flavored good, but all of our steaks were either under cooked or overcooked compared to our requests. I will say that the drinks were on point, the server was really helpful and always available. The appetizers were the best part; mozzarella wedges were my favorite. They were huge, fried and super cheesey! The artichoke dip followed up the wedges; this also had a cheese topping the artichoke and added great flavor.
Good place. They play good music but it's a bit loud.
