When spending time in and around the Rocky mountain national park area, this is the best place to stay, in my opinion. Many stay in Estes Park, but this YMCA is the best location!

We arrived around 5:15 PM to check-in after a full morning of hiking in the National Park. We already ate and wanted to grab a nap. The moment we walked in our Lodge lobby we heard a dog barking, and as we walked closer and closer to our room it became clear the dog was immediately next door to us. We thought maybe a few moments of us being quiet would allow the dog to calm down, but it just continued yapping. tl;dr: Great land, great activities, but good luck navigating the trails. Just got back from our summer trip and it's really great, beautiful land. In the summer the few trails that seem to have had recent investments are great hiking but those seem few and far between. Had fun hiking Waterfall Trail, and 9 Mile Trail ( or is it Grand View Trail? ) but with no recent investment in accurate maps it's hard to find the hiking trails and not at all clear which ones are currently maintained or suppose to be accessible for hiking.... read more
