love this place Compared to the Western Y, Central Y has everything they do except the hassle! The equipment is great (not as much of it but still plenty), the classes are even better than at Western and while the aerobic rooms are smaller, so are the classes. I highly recommend trying Central Y if the lack of customer service at Western irks you like it does me.
!!! Have used many facets of this business, from fitness to childcare. I trust the staff of this childcare with my most precious things, my children. Two of my children have been in this center. The fitness aspect is awesome. Hardly ever crowded, no waiting and small classes for fitness. Would recommend.
Nice city gym The Central YMCA has its own culture. It attracts many young working adults and some college students as well. It is very convenient to Wilmington's many office buildings so there is a big before and after work crowd (more after). There are many cardio machines and I have never had to wait long for a piece of equipment. They have a variety of weights as well as classes and a heated indoor pool that is great for swimming laps. They also have racquetball courts and newly remodeled locker rooms.
