A great tuition-free charter school with an incredibly dedicated principal and staff. It feels like a small private school in many ways. Parents can be very involved and affect change vs in large public schools where there’s often red tape. The academics are rigorous but the kids get more recess time than most schools. My son has learned mandarin so quickly in just one semester. I know the immersion works (and it’s much better than suffering through “Saturday school” for language).
My children started at this school during its inaugural year. After a really unpleasant experience at a previous school YHALE has been a breath of fresh air. Everyone that is involved with this school is committed to its success! As it continues to grow the school works hard to constantly evolve and keep the kids as its center. I know that may sound counterintuitive in describing a school, but trust! Not all schools seem to remember that.
