Having recently moved to Half Moon Bay (January 2013), Yerba Buena features over 600 species of plants that are grown here from seeds, cuttings and divisions. These plants represent all regions of California from the beaches to the Sierras. Plants for sale are well marked with information cards telling the origin of the plants and appropriate use in the garden. Sophie was so kind and helpful. We originally came in for several Black Sage 1-gallons to build a hedge, but wound up adding on an additional round of Lippias to add a splash of bright green ground cover to an otherwise bare patch. Yerba Buena Nursery is a gem -- we're lucky to have them in the area.
Important: masks are required to enter. They sell individually wrapped masks at the counter for $1. Oh and cash or checks preferred for all sales; 4% upcharge for credit card. This is a great nursery to get plants for the multitude of climates in the peninsular bioregion. We live in Foster City and wanted to re-landscape with manzanitas and sagebrushes and this nursery did not disappoint. Prices are reasonable for the area ($16-$20 per 1gal pot). As of April 2024 they still require a mask for entry to an outdoor nursery and don’t offer you one to wear. Most doctors offices aren’t even requiring a mask at this point.
