Our third trip to the park (from Kansas) and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We still had several places we wanted to visit that we hadn't been to yet, and we stopped at some of our favorite spots from previous visits. We have learned quite a bit about wildlife viewing from our previous visits and were able to see the only animal we hadn't seen previously - a wolf! Actually we saw 20 wolves over two days in Lamar Valley. Along with the spectacular views, a black bear, bald eagle, and of course bison and promghorn.
The absolute best
We spent 4 days in Yellowstone, but honestly, I wish we had only done 3 and spent more time in Grand Teton instead — that park was far more beautiful and peaceful. Yellowstone was overcrowded with tourists, and many of the hikes felt underwhelming and lacked variety. The park infrastructure also seemed dated and not well-maintained in places. The Buffalo burgers that I ordered was way overcooked. It tastes like cardboard.
