When you arrive, you buy a bag (or more) of "mined dirt/gravel" you then take over to the mining slough to pan. We didn't realize before going, but the company makes sure each bag contains real treasures the kids will love, like tons of gems (at least 2 LARGE pieces, and dozens on smaller ones), arrow heads, and fossils! Even sharks teeth!!! Our 5 year old boys were so disappointed to learn that panning for sapphires was no longer an option at a destination we had planned, so we scrambled to find a place that would let them ... read more
