Maybe I’m just too used to the community centres and rec facilities in Vancouver, but I honestly can’t understand the purpose of the Yellowknife Fieldhouse. Even with its modern structure, the space feels unfocused. The courts don’t fully support any specific sport, and the soccer fields aren’t regulation size — it all comes across as an upgraded playground rather than a true sports complex. Great place for indoor play
I can't wait to play outside without the snow. Meanwhile, let's warm up with friends.
I am beyond disappointed with the maintenance of this facility. While the snow is "scraped," the pavement is left as a sheet of ice with zero salt or sand applied. Today, I slipped and fell on my knees while carrying my toddler and being 24 weeks pregnant. This is a massive safety liability. Scraping without salting makes the surface even more deceptive and dangerous. Please address this immediately before someone is seriously injured.
