We have been seeing Dr. Yaw since our son's birth four years ago. We fell in love with her the very first visit. She is extremely straight forward, she doesn't waste time with niceties or beating around the bush. She will tell you things you don't want to hear. But isn't that what you want in a doctor? I didn't spend years of my life going to medical school, so I expect my doctor to tell me the truth because I don't know the things she does based on her education and experience. You want a doctor you can trust to tell you th... read more
We absolutely love Dr. Yaw!! She was wonderful at our prenatal visit and loved how honest and straight forward she was. We knew we would be in good hands and we would always know exactly how we were doing as parents (like it or not, sometimes we need to hear things we do not want to, it’s what is best for our child). The moment she met our precious boy, it just melted our hearts. She was so amazing with him and knew just how to hold and soothe him. Even on her busiest days she always took the time to thoroughly examine our s... read more
Dr. Yaw cared for our child since birth. I've always thought she was a bit rude since she never greets us or says "goodbye" to start and end office visits. She's very matter-of-fact, straight-to-business style. I'm actually relieved other people have also experienced her rough exterior, and it wasn't just us, or our child she disliked.. On our last visit, Dr. Yaw was doing an abdominal exam on my seven year old. When my child giggled because she's ticklish, Dr. Yaw admonished her, stating "Stop that, you're too old for this"... read more
I delivered my first baby May of 2017, Dr yaw came to the hospital to do my son's circumcision, I abosultly loved her and decided to continue his care with her. When I brought my son home I was mixed with all kinds of emotions and cried over everything. everyone tried talking to me but nothing worked but the kind words Dr yaw spoke to me. If it wasn't for her i don't think I would have ever gotten out of my funk. She has given me great advice and given excellent care to my baby. LOVE LOVE Dr yaw
*My experience actually dates back over 3 years ago with my youngest daughter.* I was breastfeeding youngest daughter who was gaining the minimum amount of weight (not enough according to Dr. Yaw). I was told to force feed her formula, leave the house and have my husband feed her, ect. I was then told that I was 1 more visit from having CPS called because I was "refusing" to feed my daughter her way. I tried her way, but my daughter didn't like bottles. I will NOT and have NOT recommended her.
My son has being seeing Dr. Yaw since he was 1. He is now 9. I have not had any complaints regarding her until now. My son was seen for a wart on his toe. She walked in rude demanding he take his socks off. She told him she was going to do a freeze treatment & that it would hurt. He began to cry because he is 9 & scared. She did not do any type of reassuring. She said I am not going to do this. I'm not going to touch you. She said do the treatment at home and walked out of the room.
Poor bedside manner. Has misdiagnosed my children 3 times including a time we finally insisted on a strep test she didn't feel necessary to find out it was indeed strep. Abrubt and almost sarcastic in tone when asked questions. Thinks telling a child that feels horrible that it will sting when she gets the drops her parents have been told to put in her ear. We have had 4 appointments too many with her and have decided that we will go to urgent care in the future if Dr Yaw is the only option.
