I saw a lady with dementia moving a pen speedily towards her mouth & prevented her from attempting to eat it, so she went for the next nearest thing instead - my fingertip. She clamped onto it like a human turtle and puctured the skin! I walked into my GP surgery soon after at 5.30pm knowing the high infection risk (& yes, I'd cleaned the wound thoroughly & applied Savlon) - twice as much bacteria in a human's mouth compared to a dog's mouth, lady with poor oral hygiene & a current bacterial infection.
