Dr. Gelfand and his nurse practitioner April were very supportive and helpful during my mother’s doctor consultations, surgery, and post surgery consultations. They were very patient, knowledgeable, and caring when it came to providing care and answering any questions or concerns my mother or I had. I would recommend Dr. Gelfand to anyone who is searching for quality care!

Im at patient of Dr. Gelfand and before I went under i was extremely nervous about my procedure because I've never had surgery before, let alone my first being back surgery and I have to say that everything went super and in three weeks I was back to 85% and feeling great. Dr. Gelfand is a professional and great at what he does. I'd recommend him 20 out of 10 times to anyone looking for a pro.
Dr Gelfand is a highly skilled neurosurgeon and I am so thankful that I found him. I was in very bad condition unable to walk or even stand without severe pain. From my first appointment I had total faith in Dr Gelfand. He sent me for diagnostic tests then clearly explained my predicament and the surgery that was needed. Dr Gelfand Neurosurgeon and his team at Montefiore Moses Division is a life saver! My mom’s surgery was very complex the one thing I loved about the doctor is he explained the surgery details from beginning to end! Before my mother’s surgery I was able to meet with him I told him I don’t play with my mother and his response was he doesn’t play with his patients and thats all I needed to hear!
