You know, we wanted to have a great dinner tonight at Yama. We were expecting to have a good dinner at Yama tonight. Problem is, we just didn't have a good dinner tonight. It's not a matter of us having a chip on our shoulder or anything but this place just needs to step up their game.
Sushi + BYOB = a yummy delightful meal – Yama is a delicious Japanese restaurant in Wellesley. I have been on a few occasions; with large and small groups. It is conducive to large groups because it doesn't get too crowded and you get to have a decent amount of space. Each time I've gone I've had an assortment of sushi and salad to start. Yama Japanese Restaurant – I can't believe this place gets any business, the food is the worse!!!! We had sushi there & it wasn't fresh. The only thing I can figure out is that people don't know what good food is.

our favorite sushi – My 3 teenage children love Yama's. We have tried many sushi places but keep coming back. The sushi is fresh. The size of the pieces is perfect and we'ver never had a bad meal. We rarely order anything else from the menu but we do like their vegetable tempura and they are always accomodating when we ask for it to be heavy on the sweet potato. Great for lunch – Very solid sushi place. Much better deal for lunch than for dinner. Most lunch specials come with soup and salad and make for a pretty good deal. Stick to the sushi here for the most part. Other things are okay, but not especially exceptional. The sushi is fresh, and presented in a straightforward manner. The dressing on the salad is excellent. Green tea in a bag is a bit of a turnoff.
Yama is Yummy – Sushi was top notch, very fresh and wide variety of choices. The Udon Noodle dishes were very tasty and plentiful. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the great value Service was a bit slow however, this was probably due to the fact that it was a busy Friday night.
