It's all about the rolls ... – I frequent Yakko Sushi every other week for a late weekday dinner and for business with various co-workers. It is always a great environment with a great staff that is always willing to go the extra effort to get to know their returning customers. For those not in the know, it is always a blast when they host their special events and bring out the sake machine. Now, I am not much of a sake drinker, but when one can pour sake as it were a slurpee then it is definitely worth mentioning. As much a... read more

Best sushi and great chefs – I've been going to Yakko for over a year and refuse to go anywhere else. This is not a frills sushi place, this is a straight up, fresh sushi and great people. I always sit at the sushi bar and talk to the chefs and meet great locals as well. If you're not an experienced sushi eater, this is a great place as well.

nothing special – the food was very fresh but presentation was average. rainbow roll was composed of the tail end of the fish. The last piece of the roll barely had any fish on it. Miso soup had a funky aftertaste. It wasnt a busy night but it was still difficult to get the waitresses attention. the only positives were the sushi pieces.

Editorial Review – Diners sample classic and exotic fish from low Japanese tables at this Mountain View sushi house.

Great Place! – I brought my (very picky) roommate here for her birthday, and we both loved it! The sushi was fresh, very flavorful, and beautifully presented. Great service - the waitress brought us an additional sushi roll (Hot Night - recommended only if you enjoy spicy food) because we were celebrating a birthday (although she was a little slow). I recommend everything we ate: Hot Night, Godzilla roll, Spider roll, tuna sashimi.

Fabulous Spicy Sashimi plates – My boyfriend and I tried the Hamachi Spicy Sashimi plate and it was fabulous! Twelve slices of hamachi came presented on shaved daikon with a wonderfully spicy green sauce. For onlyy $13, that was a great deal. We got a few other rolls which were good but the Spicy Sashima plate definitely stood out in taste and value. The waitress was very sweet but slow (maybe it was a busier night??). The ambiance was nice and cozy and casual. I can't wait to go back to try the salmon version of the Spicy S... read more

Can't Get Enough!!! – I've been to many sushi joints around the bay area for years and when it comes to Yakko Sushi, I always end up going back for more. The sushi is fresh, well decorated, and tastey. And I mean fresh, not lukewarm Miyake-fresh but fresh like a fish just got hit unconscious by a fist of rice. The Godzilla roll is a must! Ambience is traditional Japanese, with sit-in booths as well as tables and sushi bar. It's ideal to take a date as well as family. Price is very reasonable. Wine list is limited but who nee... read more

Unfresh tuna and poor service – I had some unfresh maguro. It tasted bad and smelled horrible. When I told the waitress that I had some bad maguro, she gave me another piece, which was just as bad. She did not do anything to try to rectify the situation, like give me a piece of salmon or other sushi that was fresh. I did not get the price of the maguro subtracted from the bill. On the other hand, the non-sushi lunch specials there are very good, and very reasonably priced.
